This case study highlights the journey of a client who suffered from PCOS-induced hair growth on her chin. After shaving daily for many years, she was brought to our clinic for a permanent solution by her niece (also a client of ours). Our expert team conducted a thorough assessment and tailored an electrolysis treatment plan that addressed her specific needs, and found a treatment modality and setting that was tolerated well by her melanin-rich skin. Starting in August 2020, she randomly booked sessions lasting from 60-120 minutes as and when she was able to fit the treatment within her busy “working mom” life. We were grateful that the client was at least allowing us sufficient session time to clear the area every time. The client was shaving her chin between sessions whenever new growth appeared.
Surprisingly even to us, the hair growth reduced quickly.
The second photo shows her 6-month progress after only 1 clearance. The third photo shows her 9-month progress after 2 more clearances. The last photo was taken 19 months after the start of treatment. After this, the client has only attended for 30 min touch-ups annually.
The Total Treatment Time for this client’s chin was 16 hours completed over 19 months.
