Comprehensive Treatment Journey
This case study highlights the journey of a client who suffered from an exreme laser-induced hair growth (paradoxical hypertrichosis) in multiple areas of his body. After trying various local providers in Amsterdam, he turned to our clinic for a permanent solution. Our expert team conducted a thorough assessment and tailored an electrolysis treatment plan that addressed his specific needs, ensuring optimal results. Starting in November 2017, we meticulously targeted each hair follicle over a number of marathon sessions lasting from 4 to 7 hours per day. We cleared the T-shirt line initially and progressed down the back with each visit, allowing him more freedom to abandon the turtle neck jumpers and wear lower-cut and open-buttoned shirts.
The client scheduled visits according to his availability and budget restrictions but by March 2019 (top middle photo) we were halfway there and by the end of 2019 he had returned to his favourite sport and the changing room. After 21 21-month pause during the COVID pandemic, he returned to finish the back and refine the transition lines to the surrounding areas (bottom mid photo). He had only been trimming the hair in this period to allow us to see the maximum amount of growth.
On the last photo, is his back a year later. At this point, we had started on other areas of his body and were just picking any odd hairs coming through – no more than 15-20 min.
The Total Treatment Time for this client’s back and shoulders was around 150 hours, 90% of which was completed over 24 months. Upper arms are not included in this total.
Our customised electrolysis approach not only provided a permanent solution but also improved the client’s overall quality of life. The treatment was conducted in a safe, sterile environment, with noticeable improvements after each session.
