This case study highlights the journey of a client who suffered from PCOS-induced hair growth on her face and neck. After trying 2 other providers, she turned to our clinic for a permanent solution. Our expert team conducted a thorough assessment and tailored an electrolysis treatment plan that addressed her specific needs, and found a treatment modality and setting that was tolerated well by her melanin-rich skin. Starting in September 2022, we meticulously targeted each hair follicle over a number of sessions lasting from 60-120 minutes. We cleared the area month after month, adjusting the length and frequency of the appointments as required.
The client stopped waxing and scheduled and attended visits exactly as instructed. She prepared the area with numbing cream prior to electrolysis sessions.
The second photo shows her 3-month progress. The third photo shows her 11-month progress. After this, she only attended for 30 min touch-ups every 3 months for the next 12 months and is down to annual touch-ups now.

The Total Treatment Time for this client’s face and neck was 25 hours completed over 12 months. Deep ingrown hairs resulting from years of waxing still find their way out to the surface in this case, which factors in to ongoing maintenance requirements.
